Bullard built thousands of Cutmaster VTLs in the 1940s and 1950s, ramping up production to meet the rigorous production demands of manufacturing during World War II. They were a true “war winner” as we like to call them. The Cutmaster is still the backbone of many shops to this day. The second and third generation of this Bullard VTL had a hydraulic shifter unit that relied on the Bullard part number U-23156-2 solenoid to shift speeds in the headstock.
The vast majority of Cutmasters were built with the second generation of shifter unit that has 11 solenoids. As there are still thousands of these machines still in the field today, Bourn & Koch carries the U-23156-2 solenoid in abundance, ready to ship for immediate delivery.
The latest Namco equivalent to this solenoid is EB200-20155 (5K100). Since we purchase this solenoid in abundance, we are able to pass along a lower cost to you for maintaining your Bullard.
We also carry rebuilt Bullard Cutmaster shifter units in stock. We even keep a completely overhauled shifter unit in stock for a turnkey replacement.
