DeVlieg: The Standard for Boring Accuracy
DeVlieg Jigmils set the standard for the horizontal boring mill. They are still more mechanically accurate than many of the machines produced today. The rigidity of their machines and the incorporation of a drawbar for holding the tooling, is a large reason for their accuracy. One way to reduce downtime and lower the total cost of ownership is to convert your Jigmil from a 1-piece drawbar to a 4-piece drawbar.
Jigmil Drawbar Conversions
Though the 4-piece design of the drawbar is smaller than the 1-piece design, damage to the drawbar can be a problem if not converted. When the 1-piece drawbar is damaged, the entire drawbar needs to be replaced. A new drawbar can be expensive and have a long lead time. When your Jigmil is converted to a 4-piece drawbar, typically only the sleeve or insert needs to be replaced when damage or wear occurs, increasing machine uptime and lowering total cost of ownership. We keep both the sleeve and insert for many drawbars in stock, ready to ship.
