King CNC & PLC Retrofit
Bourn & Koch offers CNC & PLC retrofits for many makes of King VTLs & VBMs. We can add CNC or PLC capabilities to your older, manual King and also retrofit your King to newer, modern, CNC or PLC controls. CNC & PLC retrofits for King can be performed at our Rockford, Illinois plant or in certain cases, on-site at your facility or shop by our field service technicians.
King Gear Box Repairs
We’ve rebuilt numerous King gearboxes, both in-house and out in the field. As OEM for King, we have the right documentation to ensure the correct parts are installed in your gearbox. This also means we can inspect any of the parts inside of it to ensure they are within acceptable tolerances.
We also carry many of the common replacement parts in stock, helping to reduce downtime and increasing your productivity.
King Transmission Rebuild & Repair
King VTLs utilized a heavy-duty transmission to transfer power from the motor to the clutch case. The transmission on a King contains numerous gears that work in conjunction with one another to transfer power at the appropriate rate for given speeds at the table. As your King is run, the gears, bushings, bearings and shafts in your transmission will become worn, causing downtime and loss of performance.
Our rebuild & repair service includes the following:
- A full teardown and evaluation of your King’s transmission to determine root cause of failure
- An evaluation report showing what issues were found within the headstock
- Replacement of any wear parts including bushings, bearings and seals
- Replacement of any worn gears and shafts
- Reassembly and inspection to ensure proper function
