On December 1st, Rock Valley College unveiled their new Woodward Technology Center with a reception held at their campus. Rock Valley College has a long standing reputation as a community college that has gone above and beyond to provide the Rock River Valley with quality educational programs for their residents. Numerous employees at Bourn & Koch have attended Rock Valley College and continue to do so. In fact, our two Lean Green Belts received their certification through their education program. With the abundance of aerospace activity and manufacturing that the area is home to, the Woodward Technology Center will be a great asset to developing the next generation of engineers to support the growth of the Rock River Valley and our reinvigorated expansion into manufacturing.
As a leader in the machine tool industry, Bourn & Koch has committed to supporting the efforts of Rock Valley College with a financial donation to the Woodward Technical Center pledged. As evidence of our commitment, the electronics lab at The Woodward Technical Center will be bear our name, ensuring that generations to come will have access to a quality engineering education in the Rock River Valley.
One of the founders of Bourn & Koch, Loyd Koch, was in attendance for the reception. Additional support for the Woodward Technology Center is being provided by Woodward, Inc., Rockford Toolcraft, Field Fastener, Greenlee, Rockford Area Realtors, Textron Charitable Trust, and many others. We are excited for manufacturing’s future in the Rock River Valley and the possibilities that the Woodward Technology Center offers our region.
