Blanchard Magnetic Chuck Rebuild
Blanchard surface grinders utilize a magnetic chuck to hold workpieces for grinding. Over the years, your magnetic chuck will lose its ability to effectively hold workpieces. This is when your magnetic chuck requires a rebuild.
Our magnetic chuck rebuild service is the most comprehensive chuck rebuild available. Our service technicians have decades of experience with rebuilding magnetic chucks. We don’t just repair your chuck, we rebuild to like new condition. All of this is done in-house at Bourn & Koch. You’ll get more service life out of a Bourn & Koch rebuilt magnetic chuck.
We also offer “loaner” magnetic chucks in select sizes to reduce downtime while we rebuild your chuck. Contact us for specific sizes and models…
We perform the following when your Blanchard magnetic chuck is rebuilt:
- A complete evaluation to identify the root cause of failure
- Replacement of all coils, insulation and leads
- Installation of a new contact ring
- Grinding of the magnetic chuck body and bottom plate mating surfaces for water tight sealing
- The rebuild chuck comes with a 1 year warranty
Blanchard CNC & PLC Retrofits
Bourn & Koch offers CNC & PLC retrofits for all makes of Blanchard grinders. We can not only add CNC or PLC capabilities to your older, manual Blanchard but also retrofit your Blanchard to newer, modern, CNC or PLC controls. CNC & PLC retrofits for surface grinders can be performed at our Rockford, Illinois plant or in certain cases, on-site at your facility or shop by our field service technicians.
Blanchard Gear Box Rebuild/Repair
Bourn & Koch can rebuild or repair your Blanchard gear box in-house at our facility. We can fully tear-down, evaluate and repair or rebuild your surface grinder’s gear box. As OEM, we have the layout drawings, mechanical diagrams and detail prints to help us best evaluate and assess what needs to be replaced in your Blanchard grinder’s gear box. We not only replace wear parts like seals, bearings and bushings, but also gears, shafts and other components.
Table Body Rebuilds
If the table body on your Blanchard suface grinder is worn, we can rebuild it. We start with an evaluation of all parts in the assembly against OEM detail prints. We then repair all bearing surfaces, including where the ring gear rides, on the table body. We repair all way surfaces to within OEM tolerances and replace the lubrication lines. We’ll even repaint your table body to match your machine.
Way Resurfacing & Scraping
Bourn & Koch still hand scrapes all of the way surfaces for our machine tools. Your Blanchard is no different. When you send in your Blanchard’s table slide, base or any other component for repair to the way surfaces, we offer the same level of care we would to your surface grinder as we would a new machine.
