As DeVlieg, Bourn & Koch offers a wide variety of rebuild and repair services at our facility to help keep your DeVlieg Jigmil running well. We offer services for all makes and models of DeVlieg. Being the OEM means that we have the knowledge and expertise to service your Jigmil properly. We make the distinction between rebuild and repair, where our competitors do not. For instance, when we rebuild your DeVlieg’s Spindle Bar, we don’t just spray weld it and call it a day. Our in-house repair services allow you to repair only what needs to be repaired as well, cutting down on costs and downtime.
Some of the DeVlieg repair services we offer at Bourn & Koch are as follows:
DeVlieg Gear Box Repairs
The DeVlieg Jigmil was a revolutionary machine, offering extreme rigidity and accuracy for precision milling, drilling and boring. The spindle gearbox powered the spindle bar, which played a large part in a DeVlieg’s accuracy. Over time, gears wear out and clutches fail. When numerous issues arise on your Jigmils’s gearbox, a teardown and repair of the gearbox is recommended.
We’ve rebuilt numerous spindle gearboxes, both in-house and out in the field. As OEM for DeVlieg, we have the right documentation to ensure the correct parts are installed in your gearbox. This also means we can inspect any of the parts inside of it to ensure they are within acceptable tolerances.
We also carry many of the common replacement parts in stock, helping to reduce downtime and increasing your productivity.
DeVlieg Spindle Bar Reconditioning
One of the more unique services that we offer for DeVlieg is a spindle bar and sleeve reconditioning. When your DeVlieg’s spindle bar and its sleeve are no longer straight or are out of alignment, Bourn & Koch can recondition your spindle bar and sleeve back to OEM tolerances. Bourn & Koch even offers a “loaner” spindle bar to reduce down time as we perform the work stated below. This way, you can keep your Jigmil busy while we get your DeVlieg’s bar & sleeve back in great shape.
With a standard spindle bar and sleeve reconditioning, we perform the following:
- Polish spindle for appearance
- Grind spindle taper and bump face back to gauge line
- Supply reconditioned sleeve on exchange
- Provide new liners
- Replace or rework bearing journals & oil seal journals
- Supply installation inspection data
Optional work includes:
- Lapping spindle diameter to remove minor pitting
- Straightening of spindle
- Reworking damaged bearing journals
